Duane Garretson

Duane’s off-road passion began back in 1996 when he purchased his first four-wheel drive vehicle, a 1978 K-5 Chevrolet Blazer. What started as simply riding the trails for fun, his passion for four-wheeling quickly became something more and soon enough he and his friends organized a local four-wheel drive club. Duane was elected president and began a small, home based, off-road parts sales business. In the fall of 2001 he teamed up with a fellow off-roader and began a four-wheel drive shop, which was named “Come Get Ya Some”.

With both Duane and his partner having a decent client base, experience, and fabrication skills, they were confident that good things would happen. Over the past ten years, with lots of dedication and hard work, their shop is now the largest off-road business in Arkansas. They currently have a 6,500 square foot facility that incorporates a 1,700 square foot retail showroom. They do everything from installing bug shields, to building custom off-road rock-crawlers that are ready for any terrain.

In the summer of 2008, Duane and his friends made a trip to Hannibal Rocks to watch a WE-ROCK competition, which featured some of the top names in the sport. Instantly, Duane and his friends wanted to build some rigs and run with the pros. That is when they formed CGYS Motorsports and began competing under that name.

Their rookie season didn’t produce the podium finishes that they had previously dreamed of, but that didn’t stop them. Team CGYS fought through the first season with very little experience in the pro division, but they were determined to improve and learn as much as possible. After traveling to new and exciting off-road venues all over the eastern region, the team decided to give it another shot, which turned out to be a more successful second season.

Coming off from a very successful third season of racing, including the R-ROCK Champions, the W.E. Rock Eastern Series AND National champs, plus six other 1st place finishes, and many other podium finishes. The team is now heading into their fourth season, and is determined to defend their title. Duane and his team are far more familiar with the competition formats. They are also more comfortable with their rigs, and have met some awesome people.  Team CGYS expects to have another great year!
