Diva Rhino Race Team – Kimberlee Wertens

Diva Rhino Race Team (DRRT), consists of Kimberlee Wertens (driver), her mother, Tiffany Paddock (co-driver/navigator). Kim is a mother of two kids and she works during the week as an administrative assistant for a structural engineering group. They’ve been off-roading for about eight years now. They enjoy riding in the desert & dunes and the team has raced the MORE Powderpuff race three times now to support the cause and raise funds to aid in finding a cure for the disease.

Kim’s family has been touched for many years by the disease of cancer. Her husband’s grandmother endured several years of living with cancer until she could fight no more.  In 2008 a close friend was diagnosed and underwent a double mastectomy at barely 40 years old.  In 2009 her family was struck again by this disease. Kim’s Aunt was just diagnosed and underwent a mastectomy last October.  We all pray for her strength, hope, and faith to survive this.

DRRT races this year for their Aunt Millie, their friends Lisa and Sheryl, and Kim’s husband’s grandmother, Bonnie.

2008 was the first time Kim ever raced off road and currently she is racing in the UTV Class in car #1917. In 2009 Kim had the joy of racing her car with her mother as her co-driver. Both were very excited to hit the track and despite delays due to mechanical problems, they were still able to finish a respectable 7^th out of 11 drivers. DRRT likes to keep it in the family and it’s not uncommon to have her sister in the co-pilot seat calling out turns and checkpoints as well!
